Production-made pilot Albert Miller dummy body from the Tom Hanks film Cast Away directed by Robert Zemeckis and released in 2000. Albert Miller was one of the pilots on board the FedEx airplane that crashed into the ocean. His body washed up on the beach of the deserted island that Chuck Noland, actor Tom Hanks, had become a castaway on. Chuck dug a grave and buried Albert on the island.
The dummy is sculpted in the likeness of actor Vince Martin. It has been painted and decorated to look like a desiccated corpse. The head and arms are made of silicone rubber. The torso and legs are foam rubber. The body is built over a fully articulated skeleton-like frame. It is dressed in a white long-sleeve shirt, white t-shirt, black tie with white pinstripes, black pants, black socks, and black tennis shoes. The clothing has been heavily weathered by production and has faux dirt, blood, and a torn left sleeve. The left wrist has a large tear and there are small tears on the edges of the mouth. The body also comes with a deflated airlines-style yellow life preserver vest. The dummy body measures approximately 73″ (185cm) from head to toe.
