The Dark Crystal (1982) – SkekUng Armor Section

Original armor section used in the production of the 1982 Frank Oz fantasy family film The Dark Crystal. Jen (Stephen Garlick), raised by the noble race called the Mystics, has been told that he is the last survivor of his own race, the Gelflings. He sets out to try to find a shard of the dark crystal, a powerful gem that once provided balance to the universe. After the crystal was broken, the evil Skeksis used sinister means to gain control. Jen believes that he can repair the dark crystal and bring peace back to the world, if he can only find the remaining shard.

This is an original production casting created for use on the SkeKsis Garthim-Master. This item is made of lightweight fiberglass with a grey finish featuring a cast in “rough” surface area with horns and metal clasp details also present. Also included is a small separate bone section that would have been attached if finished for the screen. This item shows signs of wear from storage over the years but remains in excellent, production made condition. A rare artifact from this classic 80’s film.
