Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban – “Hagrid” Skipping Stone

A skipping stone prop as used by Robbie Coltrane as “Rubeus Hagrid” in Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azakban (Warner Bros., 2004).

This type of prop can be seen as Hagrid tells Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Hermione Granger (Emma Watson), and Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) that the fate of Buckbeak the Hippogriff (Buckbeak was to be sentenced to death) had been decided by the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures after Buckbeak attacked Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) for taunting and being provoked by him earlier in the film. Hagrid throws this type of stone across the surface of the water.

This prop is composed of a concrete-like material that has been shaped to appear like a large skipping stone. A series of striations are present throughout both surfaces and the outer ridge and measures approximately 8.5” (21.60cm) across.
