Jurassic Park (1993) – Original Velociraptor Egg

Original Raptor Egg used in the production of the 1993 Steven Spielberg classic Jurassic Park. In Steven Spielberg’s massive blockbuster, paleontologists Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and mathematician Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum) are among a select group chosen to tour an island theme park populated by dinosaurs created from prehistoric DNA. While the park’s mastermind, billionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough), assures everyone that the facility is safe, they find out otherwise when various ferocious predators break free and go on the hunt.

Created by key artist Rob Hinderstein and Stan Winston Studio, this plastic dinosaur egg is hand-painted in mottled patterns, textured to appear pitted and organic and drilled with a hole at bottom for mounting to a base for stability. It shows evidence of intentional weathering by production and measures 8″ x 5″ x 5″ (20.5 cm x 12.75 cm x 12.75 cm).
