A ritual mask used in the production of the Dan Brown novel adaptation The Da Vinci Code. Such masks can be seen during several memorable flashback sequences depicting the secret gatherings of the Priory of Sion, the guardians of the secret source of God’s power on earth. The mask is made of vac form plastic with pads applied internally on the cheeks and forehead for the comfort of the wearer and an elastic strap running around the back. The mask is finished in silver with brown cracks to give it an antique appearance. A label applied internally is marked with the name “Richard Simpson.” Showing some wear from use on set, the mask remains in very good production-used condition and measuring 5.71″ x 3.54″ x 9.25″ (14.5cm x 9cm x 23.5cm).
