Original letter and envelope used in the production of the classic Frank Darabont 1994 film The Shawshank Redemption. Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison for the murders of his wife and her lover and is sentenced to a tough prison. However, only Andy knows he didn’t commit the crimes. While there, he forms a friendship with Red (Morgan Freeman), experiences brutality of prison life, adapts, helps the warden, etc., all in 19 years.
Sentenced to life in Shawshank State Penitentiary, Andy Dufresne (Robbins) developed a bond with a fellow inmate (Morgan Freeman) and laundered money for the corrupt warden (Bob Gunton). At the end of the film, Red found a box of money Andy left hidden for him, along with a letter inviting him to join him in Zihuatanejo, Mexico. This letter is hand written in red ink on white paper measuring 8..5″ x 11″. The ink is slightly faded and the letter exhibits folds where it was placed inside the envelope. This piece includes the original envelope with the name “Red” written on the front. This piece remains in excellent, production used condition.
