The Matrix (1999) – Original Agent Bug Concept Illustration

Original hand drawn illustration of the “bug” used by the Agents in the production of the 1999 cult science fiction film The Matrix. Neo (Keanu Reeves) believes that Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), an elusive figure considered to be the most dangerous man alive, can answer his question — What is the Matrix? Neo is contacted by Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), a beautiful stranger who leads him into an underworld where he meets Morpheus. They fight a brutal battle for their lives against a cadre of viciously intelligent secret agents. It is a truth that could cost Neo something more precious than his life.

In the film Agent Smith, actor Hugo Weaving can be seen taking a small mechanical device out of a silver cast, which slowly turns into an organic looking “bug” creature before he places it inside Neo, actor Keanu Reeves. This piece is hand drawn inn pencil and ink and features blue, black and red ink detailing. Thee page measures 11″ x 8.5″ and features the final concept of the bug and case featured in the film. This item remains in excellent, production used condition.
