The Hunger Games (2012) – District 12 Coal Miners Helmet

Original coal mining helmet used in the production of the 2012 film The Hunger Games. In what was once North America, the Capitol of Panem maintains its hold on its 12 districts by forcing them each to select a boy and a girl, called Tributes, to compete in a nationally televised event called the Hunger Games. Every citizen must watch as the youths fight to the death until only one remains. District 12 Tribute Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has little to rely on, other than her hunting skills and sharp instincts, in an arena where she must weigh survival against love.

District 12 was known for its coal mines, this style of hat can be seen worn by one of the many coal miners featured in the film. This is a plastic helmet that has been heavily distressed by the production to appear aged and used. it features a working lamp that is attached to the front that is powered by a small battery pack with a long cord that would have been worn by the actor. This item featured electrical components in the form of LED lights (electronics untested) and shows slight wear from use in the film. This piece remains in excellent, production used condition.
