Avatar (2009) – RDA E-Fuse Fragmentation Grenade

Original RDA E-Fuse Fragmentation Grenade used in the production of the groundbreaking 2009 film Avatar. On the lush alien world of Pandora live the Na’vi, beings who appear primitive but are highly evolved. Because the planet’s environment is poisonous, human/Na’vi hybrids, called Avatars, must link to human minds to allow for free movement on Pandora. Jake Sully (Sam Worthington), a paralyzed former Marine, becomes mobile again through one such Avatar and falls in love with a Na’vi woman (Zoe Saldana). As a bond with her grows, he is drawn into a battle for the survival of her world.

This is a handheld explosive device issued to RDA soldiers and features a delayed fuse with a flip open top section. These were used by the soldiers during their attack on Pandora and can clearly be seen being used by Jake Sully to take down the Valkyrie when it attacks the Tree of Souls. This piece is made of a dense urethane with a rounded main body with applied white letter decals. The top section is green in color and is held on via a metal cotter pin with an attached yellow silicone ribbon. This piece has been slightly weathered by the production to appear aged and features some small scapes and scuffs from use in the film. This item remains in excellent, production used condition.
