Battlestar Galactica (1978) “L” Cubit

A metal Cubit currency coin from the 1978 sci-fi series, Battlestar Galactica. Cubits like this piece can be seen throughout the show, most often during scenes depicting pilots gambling in their crew quarters where they play Pyramid. Made from gold colored metal, this cubit features an “L” on one side, with a geometric pattern on the reverse side that consists of dozens of triangles. Unique to this version of the show, cubits were made with one side featuring either a “G” or an “L” as a nod to the series creator, Glen Larson. This cubit remains in very good condition and measures 1.5″ x 0.2″ x 1.0″ (3.81cm x 0.51cm x 2.54cm).
