Armageddon (1998) – “Disaster in Space” Newspaper

Original newspaper used in the production of the hit 1998 science fiction film Armageddon. When an asteroid threatens to collide with Earth, NASA honcho Dan Truman (Billy Bob Thornton) determines the only way to stop it is to drill into its surface and detonate a nuclear bomb. This leads him to renowned driller Harry Stamper (Bruce Willis), who agrees to helm the dangerous space mission provided he can bring along his own hotshot crew. Among them is the cocksure A.J. (Ben Affleck), who Harry thinks isn’t good enough for his daughter (Liv Tyler), until the mission proves otherwise.

This faux newspaper was created by the production and they can be seen in the film where numerous people are reading newspapers on the streets after the shuttle explosion. This piece was created baby the world famous “Earls Hay Press” prop house for the film. This item is printed on real newsprint with black and red ink graphics. This piece shows signs of wear from use in the film but remains in excellent, production used condition.
