Gladiator Retractable Special Effects Barbarian Sword

An original weapon used in the production of Gladiator, the 2000 historical epic starring Russell Crowe under the direction of Ridley Scott.

This style of sword and others like it were used by the barbarians of Germania who do battle with the Roman legion commanded by Maximus on the front in Germania.

This Barbarian Sword is a custom fabricated special effects version featuring a retractable blade that could give the effect stabbing someone. The blade is made up of 2 parts of metal that is spring loaded allowing it to retract in to itself. The handle is made of resin and the sword itself measures approximately 27.5” (69.8cm) in length and remains in excellent production used condition exhibiting minor surface wear.
