The Abyss – Underwater Drilling Platform Door

Drilling Platform Door featured in the 1989 James Cameron underwater classic The Abyss. Ed Harris and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio are formerly married petroleum engineers who still have some issues to work out. They are drafted to assist a gung-ho Navy SEAL (Michael Biehn) with a top-secret recovery operation: a nuclear sub has been ambushed and sunk, under mysterious circumstances, in some of the deepest waters on Earth.

This door can be seen in many scenes as part of the main drilling platform underwater. This piece is made of wood and fiberglass and features a round hand wheel on the front along with a small see through window. The door has been distressed by the production to look used and features wear and dirt marks over the front and back. Item measures an impressive 48” x 32” (121.9cm x 81.2cm). This piece shows slight wear from use in the production but remains in excellent, production used condition. Special shipping arrangements will be necessary for this item due to its size and weight after purchase.
