Men In Black (1997) – Edgar Bug Maquette

An original maquette used by the production of the hit 1997 science fiction film Men In Black. They are the best-kept secret in the universe. Working for a highly funded yet unofficial government agency, Kay (Tommy Lee Jones) and Jay (Will Smith) are the Men in Black, providers of immigration services and regulators of all things alien on Earth. While investigating a series of unregistered close encounters, the MIB agents uncover the deadly plot of an intergalactic terrorist who is on a mission to assassinate two ambassadors from opposing galaxies currently in residence in New York City.

An Edgar Bug maquette from Barry Sonnenfeld’s comedy Men in Black. The sculpture depicts a rough mock-up design of the Edgar Bug in his true form as seen at the end of the film. The maquette is sculpted in clay that has been structurally reinforced with armature wire and is attached to a wooden base. The piece features slight cracking due to age, with clay noticeably missing two fingers, but remains in otherwise fragile condition. Dimensions: 12” x 12” x 14”.
