Original exploded vampire head used in the final of the 1998 Marvel superhero film Blade. A half-mortal, half-immortal is out to avenge his mother’s death and rid the world of vampires. The modern-day technologically advanced vampires he is going after are in search of his special blood type needed to summon an evil god who plays a key role in their plan to execute the human race.
After summoning the spirit of La Magra, Deacon Frost actor Stephen Dorff gained the power of the mythic vampire and transforms into a large mutant blood vampire. This piece was used as a practical effect for use on set and later replaced by CGI. This item is made of foam latex and features a mutated face with hues of red, attached black faux hair and cast in vampire fang details. The piece includes a prop EDTA dart which was used to kill Frost in the finale. The dart is located in the center of the head and is removable, made of plastic painted silver and a clear tube with blue liquid inside. This piece remains in excellent, production used condition and measures 28″ x 30″.
