Dueling Lightsaber wielded by Obi-Wan Kenobi, actor Ewan McGregor in the George Lucas prequel film Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. This was the Jedi Masters main weapon that can be seen throughout the film. This specific version was created for the actor to “duel” with, and was wielded by the Jedi when he fought Jango Fett on the planet Kamino as well as the final battle of the film.
This piece is cast in resin with a long piece of “all thread” protruding from the top where the hollow metal saber would is attached for the actors to fight with while filming. The main body of the saber is silver, with a cut-out section featuring an inverted black grip. The top portion of the saber is also silver in color with black ribbed detailing and two attached knobs, one gold and the other red, both metallic as to simulate metal. The bottom of the saber features a black pommel with silver details.
Included is a saber blade, made of aluminum this “blade” painted green and four hex screws near the base where they would be tightened to secure it to the handle that allowed blades to be replaced during filming when they were damaged. This particular blade was used in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. This saber is in overall good condition with some paint wear. The handle measures 13.5″ (34.2cm) in length when including the threaded rod and 11″ (27.9cm) in length when measuring just the saber handle. The blade measures 38” in length for a combined length of the handle and blade at 49” (124.4cm) total.
