Original wall panel used in the production of the 1999 prequel film Star Wars: Episode I “The Phantom Menace”. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) is a young apprentice Jedi knight under the tutelage of Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson) ; Anakin Skywalker (Jake Lloyd), who will later father Luke Skywalker and become known as Darth Vader, is just a 9-year-old boy. When the Trade Federation cuts off all routes to the planet Naboo, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are assigned to settle the matter.
This piece was used as set dressing on the planet of Mos Espa, where different wall “greeblies” were made from found items for the production. This piece features a flat plastic wall grate as the backing that has been painted silver and has attached small sections of plastic present on the front, along with a round plastic piece in the center with red showing through. The entire piece has been aged by the production and has signs of applied sad and glue where it was attached to the set. There are four metal long screws present, one on each corner. This item shows signs of wear from use in the film, measures 14″ x 10″ and remains in excellent, production used condition.
