A light-up portable radio from Richard Linklater’s A Scanner Darkly. In the near future, as America virtually loses the war on drugs, Robert Arctor, a narcotics cop in Orange County, Calif., becomes an addict when he goes under cover. He is wooing Donna, a dealer, to ferret out her supplier. At the same time, he receives orders to spy on his housemates, one of whom is suspected of being Donna’s biggest customer.
Freck played his radio as he cooked food on the stove and heard the radio announcer say Freck was planning on killing himself with drugs and alcohol. This gray and black Grundig S350 radio features a digital display; a high-sensitivity five-band AM/FM/SW BCL receiver, bass and treble dials; a band with knob, time, and alarm settings; backlighting; an earphone jack; a black leather handle, and a 48″ antennae. This radio is functional when powered with four “D” batteries. This lot exhibits a snapped antennae end and minor grime. This piece remains in excellent, production used condition.
