Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) – Hero Pankot Palace Banquet Beetle

A Hero Pankot Palace banquet beetle from Steven Spielberg’s action-adventure sequel Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Intrepid archaeologist Indiana Jones, on the trail of fortune and glory in Old Shanghai, is ricocheted into a dangerous adventure in India. With his faithful companion Short Round and nightclub singer Willie Scott, Indie goes in search of the magical Sankara stone, and uncovers an ancient evil which threatens all who come into contact with it.

This piece was featured in the films memorable banquet scene where bug and even monkey brain were served to Indy and his guests. This latex stag beetle that is predominantly painted with a glossy black finish and features a detailed shell, six spindly plastic legs and a pair of pincers. The brown-coloured underside of the insect is removable and is secured to the main body via two strips of Velcro, know as the ‘hero version”. This item shows signs of wear from use in the film but remain in excellent, production used condition.
