This unique and fascinating item was produced during downtime during filming on the 2003 adventure fantasy Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by the armory department. Various members of the crew took it upon themselves to design and construct new weapons for the Orcs and Uruk-hai armies to pass the time during long days of filming. This is the result of one of those efforts. Built to resemble a small creature mounted to a standard, this unique item was filmed being used by one of the Orcs to command the release of the flaming trebuchets during the Siege of Gondor. Fascinating aspects of this unique item are the variety of seemingly random prop odds and ends used to construct it, and the Middle-earth creatures and cultures they repre-sent. Prosthetic Orc ears with metal piercings and a studded Orc cowl, Warg fur, Uruk-hai teeth, Rohirrim chain mail, and even a small Gondorian pin were merged together to create this unique artifact from dark recesses of Middle-earth. Overall in excellent condition and measuring 48″ (121.9cm) in length.
This item comes with a Hero Prop Certificate of Authenticity.
