Original maquette used in the production of the 1996 Tom Cruise spy thriller Mission: Impossible. When U.S. government operative Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his mentor, Jim Phelps (Jon Voight), go on a covert assignment that takes a disastrous turn, Jim is killed, and Ethan becomes the prime murder suspect. Now a fugitive, Hunt recruits brilliant hacker Luther Stickell (Ving Rhames) and maverick pilot Franz Krieger (Jean Reno) to help him sneak into a heavily guarded CIA building to retrieve a confidential computer file that will prove his innocence.
This maquette was created by the world famous ILM (Industrial Light and Magic) as a study reference for the films finale. The maquette is fully hand built from styrene with resin and plastic accents and features the train sequence for the finale of the film where a helicopter flies into the train tunnel with Ethan Hunt, actor Tom Cruise hanging from it. The model is expertly painted and features a section of the train tunnel as well. This piece sits on top of a custom made wooden display base with a clear acrylic cover and small plaque. This item measures around 15″ x 10″ and remains in excellent, production used condition.
