Original Ceti Eel used in the production of the 1982 classic Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. As Adm. James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and Capt. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) monitor trainees at Starfleet Academy, another vessel from the United Federation of Planets is about to try out the planet-creating Genesis Device in a seemingly deserted portion of space. In the process, two of Kirk’s officers are captured by Khan (Ricardo Montalban), an enemy Kirk thought he’d never see again. Once more, Kirk takes the Enterprise’s helm, where he meets Khan’s ship in an intergalactic showdown.
These larval creatures are implanted by villainous Khan, actor Ricardo Mantalban into the ears of prisoners Commander Chekov, actor Walter Koenig and Captain Terrell, actor Paul Winfield to achieve mind control over them. These smaller eel’s were used was they dropped across Checkov’s face before they crawled into his ear. This piece is made of foam latex and has been expertly painted by the studio. This piece shows signs of deterioration with some hardening of the foam latex, but remains in excellent, production used condition.
