Supernova (2000) – Nick Vanzant (James Spader) Spacesuit Helmet

Original hero spacesuit helmet used in the production of the 2000 science fiction film Supernova. Supernova is a science fiction thriller that chronicles the high-stakes adventures of a deep space hospital ship and its six member crew. When their vessel, the Nightingale 229, answers an emergency distress signal from a distant galaxy, the crew soon finds itself in danger from the mysterious young man they rescue, the alien artifact he smuggled aboard and the gravitational pull of a giant star about to go supernova — the most massive explosion in the universe.

This hero style helmet was worn by actor James Spader as the main character of Nick Vanzant. This piece features a fiberglass and resin construction with a clear acrylic dome section. The helmet is painted a metallic silver and gunmetal and features a working light on top that is activated inside the helmet (electronics untested). The inside of the helmet features full padding and a faux microphone that is made of aluminum. The helmet shows signs of wear from use in the film but remains in excellent, production used condition.
