The Shawshank Redemption (1994) – Daily Bugle Newspaper

A, original newspaper from Frank Darabont’s drama The Shawshank Redemption. Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison for the murders of his wife and her lover and is sentenced to a tough prison. However, only Andy knows he didn’t commit the crimes. While there, he forms a friendship with Red (Morgan Freeman), experiences brutality of prison life, adapts, helps the warden, etc., all in 19 years.

This original newspaper prop was used as dressing in the jail and bears the article  “Man carrying $11,000 cash found dead on bronx street”. The newspaper is printed on real newsprint and is folded and features printed copy on its front page, centre spread and back page. It has a beige hue due to oxidation with its age. This piece shows wear from use in the film but remains in excellent, production used condition.
