Army of Darkness (1992) – Deadite Miniature Skull & Hand

Stop motion skull and hand featured in the production of the 1992 horror comedy Army of Darkness. Ash is transported back to medieval days, where he is captured by the dreaded Lord Arthur. Aided by the deadly chainsaw that has become his only friend, Ash is sent on a perilous mission to recover the Book of the Dead, a powerful tome that gives its owner the power to summon an army of ghouls.

This set belongs to one of the miniature stop motion puppets used to create the famous graveyard scene in the film. The head and hand are made of cast resin and feature the likeness of a skull and skeleton hand. The pieces are painted white with hues of yellow to resemble aged bone, and have been weathered by the production with brown details. The neck section features a metal armature where ti would have been posed on set. This set remains in excellent, production used condition – the head measures 2.5″ (6.3cm) and the hand 1.25″ (3.1cm).
