A Stay Puft Marshmallow Man hand from Ivan Reitman’s 1984 supernatural comedy, Ghostbusters. The gigantic Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is one of the Ghostbusters franchise’s most iconic characters. Costumes were created with the use of miniatures to achieve the film’s climax with the Marshmallow Man. The costume itself was designed and created by a team led by Bill Bryan, who also appeared in the film inside the bulky Marshmallow Man suit. Bryan’s team created three “hero” suits for the film. There were also several “burn” suits built for the shots where the Ghostbusters set the Marshmallow Man ablaze. Measuring approximately 3″ x 7″ (7.6cm x 17.7cm) and in a very fragile state due to the age of the piece, this piece also would require some extensive restoration.
