Model miniature of the “Airwolf” helicopter used in the 1984-1987 action television series Airwolf. As part of a deal with an intelligence agency to look for his missing brother, a renegade pilot goes on missions with an advanced battle helicopter. Airwolf, Which was an advanced stealth supersonic fighter.
Miniature models were employed and seen throughout the series, particularly for the mountain hangar sequence. This miniature is outfitted with separate internal electric motors (powered by a 9-volt battery) allowing the main rotor to rotate slowly, while the tail rotor spins at high speed (not tested). This model was used and seen in virtually every episode of the series in the establishing mountain hanger sequence. This piece is made of resin with a metal under structure and detailing. The helicopter features an army green color scheme with gold, red and white detailing. The copter features two faux pilots that can clearly be seen behind the miniatures front windows. There is a small break present on one of the helicopter blades but does not distract from the overall model. There is slight wear around the helicopter model such as scrapes and marks. This piece measures 25” x 21” x 7” and remains in excellent, production used condition.
