Original Wildling axe used in the production of the HBO series Game of Thrones. George R.R. Martin’s best-selling book series “A Song of Ice and Fire” is brought to the screen as HBO sinks its considerable storytelling teeth into the medieval fantasy epic. It’s the depiction of two powerful families — kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars and honest men — playing a deadly game for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, and to sit atop the Iron Throne. Martin is credited as a co-executive producer and one of the writers for the series, whose shooting locations include Northern Ireland, Malta, Croatia and Spain.
Axe’s like these were used by the Wildlings, the nomadic people who lives away from the great houses in small clans. This piece is made of a very dense urethane rubber and features a long faux wooden style handle with a faux rock style axe section. The axe features faux metal straps and rivets around the handle and has been expertly aged and worn by the production. This piece shows slight wear from use in the series but remains in excellent, production used condition.
