Land of the Lost (2009) – Hero Sleestack Mask & Bust

Hero Sleestack mask used in the production of the 2009 Brad Silberling sci-fi comedy Land of the Lost. A space-time vortex sucks scientist Rick Marshall (Will Ferrell), his assistant Holly (Anna Friel) and a survivalist Will (Danny R. McBride) into a world populated by dinosaurs and painfully slow creatures called Sleestaks. With few resources at their disposal, Rick, Holly and Will must rely on their only ally, a primate named Chaka (Jorma Taccone), to try to survive long enough to figure out a way back home.

The mask is made primarily of foam latex, with dark plastic round eyes for the actor to see from. The mask has been painted green with hues of dark green and yellow to accent the prehistoric look. It features a slit down the back with a zipper for the actor to wear. The mask sits on top of an original production used life cast which features cast in detailing around the shoulders to simulate the look of the scales on the mask. This is a hero mask and includes a costumers tag reading “#4 Hero 2/21/08 Seamed with Nylon Mouth”. The mask has some wear from production use and age, including the foam latex cracking but remains in screen used condition.
