Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) – Iron Legion Helmet & Chest Armor

Original Iron Legion helmet and chest armor from Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. When Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) jump-starts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go terribly awry, forcing him, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the rest of the Avengers to reassemble. As the fate of Earth hangs in the balance, the team is put to the ultimate test as they battle Ultron, a technological terror hell-bent on human extinction. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.

Iron Man deployed Iron Legion droids to Sokovia to keep its citizens out of danger while the Avengers infiltrated Baron Strucker’s HYDRA lab, but Ultron ultimately overpowered and manipulated them to attack the Avengers at Avengers Tower. The sequence was accomplished by filming the live-action actors interacting with droids dressed with this style of armor, then digitally overlaying the armor’s final look in post-production. This set feature a fiberglass helmet, painted blue with a gold metallic faceplate section. The helmet features light up LED eyes that are powered via an attached battery pack. Included is a white and navy-painted sculpted rubber neck cover with black felt padding and a zipper enclosure labeled “IL-2 Soft Neck” with cable wires and a matching sculpted rubber chest armor stenciled with an Avengers logo and attached with shoulder pads, both marked “Shoulder LB Shell,” as well as black felt lining labeled “L1,” “IL Chest,” IL Back,” Iron Legion Chest R,” and “Iron Legion Chest F.” This chest armor is secured with fastening strips along the waist and various black nylon straps. Its center panel lights up via a battery pack concealed on the interior. This lot underwent sympathetic restoration to its light-up component and exhibits chipping paint and a loose panel on the front chest armor. This piece remains in excellent, production used condition.
