NASA must devise a strategy to return Apollo 13 to Earth safely after the spacecraft undergoes massive internal damage putting the lives of the three astronauts on board in jeopardy. This miniature, which measures over 3 feet by 3 feet was featured in the finale of the film where the module comes crashing back to earth from being stuck in space for over 143 hours.
This historical miniature is made of mixed media, including fiberglass, resin, wood and plastic. This piece comes in two sections, the main module which features the body and the heat shield with the ships parachute enclosure on the top, and a separate cover piece that goes over the parachute enclosure sealing it closed.
