Framed piece of the black Spiderman costume used in the production of the Marvel superhero film Spiderman III. Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) and M.J. (Kirsten Dunst) seem to finally be on the right track in their complicated relationship, but trouble looms for the superhero and his lover. Peter’s Spider-Man suit turns black and takes control of him, not only giving Peter enhanced power but also bringing out the dark side of his personality. Peter must overcome the suit’s influence as two supervillains, Sandman and Venom, rise up to destroy him and all those he holds dear.
This was an actual piece of one of the black “Symbiot” costumes used in the film, and features the signature “spider” glyph seen on the back of the costume. The costume fragment is a section of black stretch nylon with a hexagonal dye sublimated pattern. The spider glyph which is made of foam latex was printed directly onto the fabric and is dark silver in color. The glyph shows signs if wear from use in the film and small cracking from where the foam latex has hardened over time. The costume piece has been framed and includes an original COA from Columbia Pictures. The costume piece measures 15” x 10” and remains in excellent, production used condition.
