“Pimp Chalice” made for the production of the 2008 comedy Tropic Thunder. While shooting a war film, the director attempts to liven up proceedings by dropping the principle actors into the middle of a real jungle, claiming he is going to capture their performance with hidden cameras. The hapless group including drug-addled comedy star Jeff Portnoy and po-faced method man Kirk Lazarus are completely unaware when a series of unfortunate events leads them into the middle of a real war zone.
This “Pimp Chalice” was made by the production to present to the director as an option for the one seen on screen and was to be used by the outlandish character of “Alpa Chino”, actor random T. Jackson during the video shoot scene at the end of the film. This piece is made of glass and features a metallic gold plating with added faux diamond detailing. The chalice features the lettering ‘Alpa Chino” in studded diamonds with metal enclosures and is signed at the bottom in gold ink. This piece measures 8.75″ x 4″ x 4″ (22.25 cm x 10.25 cm x 10.25 cm) and shows slight wear but remains in good, production made condition.
This item comes with a Hero Prop Certificate of Authenticity.
