Starship Troopers III Large Bug Claw

Production-made full-scale warrior bug leg created for Starship Troopers 3: Marauder from 2008. The Starship Troopers series tells the story of humanity’s fight against a hostile race of giant insects. The bugs in the films are generally CGI creations but are also practical effects when necessary. The tip of the leg is intentionally missing so it can be used in scenes where the bug has to stab something and it is covered in faux blood. The leg is made of foam rubber built over a PVC pipe frame. The leg separates in the middle and has a steel cable attached to the upper leg segment that can be used to support the leg. The leg is mounted to a black plywood base. The leg measures approximately 113 inches in total length.
